A very innovative,
colourful and lively website www.rtokarachi
.gov.pk has been launched at Regional Tax
Office, Karachi. The launching ceremony was
performed by the Director General, RTO,
Mr.Asrar Raouf, Mrs. Shaista Abbas, the team
leader of the project team, highlighted the
hard work put in by the team in conceiving
every possible situation of facilitating the
tax payer, the tax bar, as well as, the
officers of RTO. She applauded the fact that
her team delivered free of cost a website of
200 pages that would have commercially cost
of Rs.5,000/- per page. The project
director, Mr. Sajjad Akbar Khan, then gave a
detailed presentation of the various links
available on the site, as well as, an online
magazine by the name of “The Prism”. He
emphasized that a Helpline link has been
specially designed to provide direct access
to the Director General at the Regional Tax
Office.
The function was largely attend. Useful
input came from Mr. Abdul Qadir Memon
President, Income Tax Bar Association, when
he proposed that an online discussion forum
be initiated to share views on different
legal issues. The launching of the website
was appreciated by the Director General
Regional Tax Office, Mr. Asrar Rauf. He
hoped that this forum will be effectively
utilized by all the stakeholders. He
appreciated the efforts put in by the entire
team and ensured his whole hearted support
for the effective and smooth running of the
website.
