Chairman, FBR

Mr. Ansar Javed Chairman, FBR is a BS-22 officer of Inland Revenue Service. He brings with him a rich professional and academic experience. He holds a Master’s degree in Economics from Government College Lahore. In addition to training at local institution like LUMS, Lahore he has attended a number of courses and seminars in various countries including U.K, Mauritius and Sri Lanka.

   Mr. Ansar Javed, in his illustrious career spanning over 34 years, has served in various key positions across the country. He remained Chief Commissioner-IR Large Taxpayers Unit Lahore and Director General, Directorate General of Intelligence & Investigation (Inland Revenue) Islamabad. His last posting before elevation as Chairman, was Director General, Directorate General of Training and Research (Inland Revenue), Lahore.

In the existing setup, the Chairman, FBR, being the executive head of the Board as well as Secretary of the Revenue Division has the responsibility for

(i) formulation and administration of fiscal policies,

(ii) levy and collection of federal taxes and

(iii) quasi-judicial function of hearing of appeals.

 His responsibilities also involve interaction with the offices of the President, the Prime Minister, all economic Ministries as well as trade and industry.
