FBR’s Facilitation and Taxpayers Education (FATE) Wing, in collaboration with GIZ, arranged a 2-day workshop on “Internal Communication Strategy for FBR” on 29th November and 2nd December 2013 in Islamabad.
The workshop was inaugurated by Chairman FBR Mr. Tariq Bajwa and was attended by senior officers of FBR Headquarters and field formations.
In his opening remarks, Chairman FBR Mr. Tariq Bajwa said that internal communication plays a crucial role in success or failure of any organization. Stressing the need for improved internal communication mechanism and protocols between various Wings of FBR as well as within the field formation, he was of the view that such workshops would assist FBR in enhanced coordination for timely decision making. He urged the officers of FBR to actively participate in the workshop so that an improved internal communication policy and SOPs can be developed in the light of recommendations of the workshop. The Chairman himself participated in the exercises and discussion in the opening session of the workshop.
Addressing the workshop, Member FATE Ms. Riffat Shaheen Qazi said that FATE wing has prioritized the need for better internal communication for prompt documentation and implementation of policies of the Government. She appreciated the efforts and participation of senior and middle managers of FBR in the formulation of the SOPs for internal communication.
Issues of dissemination of Information and communication strategies were evolved during the two day workshop by the officers themselves after interacting with one another. The workshop used instruments of role-playing, questionnaires and team-work exercises to underline the areas requiring attention in developing the communication SOPs.

Safdar Hussain, Member (Legal); Mr. Shahid Hussain Jatoi, Member (Admin); Mr. Aftab Anwar Baloch, Member (Enforcement); Mr. Aftab Ahmed Khan, Chief Commissioner RTO Rawalpindi, Mian Saeed Iqbal, Chief Commissioner RTO Islamabad; Ms. Raana Seerat, Chief Commissioner LTU Islamabad; Mr. Imtiaz Ahmed Khan, Collector (Customs) Islamabad and other senior officers of FBR.
