Seminar at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry on Voluntary Tax Scheme, 2015

An interactive session on Voluntary Tax Compliance Scheme (2016) was held at Faisalabad Chamber of Commerce & Industry (FCCI), Faisalabad with Chief Commissioner I.R, Mr. Shad Muhammad in the chair. The RTO team also comprised Dr. Muhammad Akram Khan, Commissioner I.R, Zone-II, Mr. Ahsan Raza, Commissioner I.R, BTB and officers / members of taxpayers’ facilitation teams. Among the participants were members of the FCCI as well as representatives of various trade associations.

• 2. The meeting started with recitation from the Holy Quran. In his welcome address Chaudhary Muhammad Nawaz, President FCCI highlighted the significance for this interaction in view of need for further clarity on various aspects of the scheme. Afterwards, Mr. Sajjad Amjad, Additional Commissioner (HQs) gave a comprehensive presentation on salient features of the scheme.
• 3. The presentation was followed by question & answer session wherein specific queries of the members of FCCI and trade associations were addressed by the Chief Commissioner and his team. The session was highly useful in that it addressed various ambiguities and misgivings about the scheme on part of the participants from traders’ side. It was resolved that further interaction on the matter will continue at association level so that maximum number of taxpayers can file returns and pay tax under the scheme. The RTO team assured full cooperation and guidance to participants in return filing, payment of tax, etc.
