The Chairman, Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial met with a delegation of the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI) in Karachi today as part of his monthly visit to the city. The delegation was led by Mr. Saquib Fayyaz Magoon, and included senior office bearers and business leaders, while the Chairman was accompanied by Member Inland Revenue (Operations), Member Customs (Operations) and senior officers of FBR.
The meeting was held as a follow-up to the earlier meeting to review the progress made on various matters discussed in the previous meeting. The FPCCI delegation warmly appreciated the Chairman's initiative of making monthly visits to Karachi, describing it as a positive and welcome step that reflects the government's commitment to sustained, direct engagement with the business community. The delegation remarked that such regular interaction had significantly improved communication between FBR and the trade bodies, allowing issues to be raised and addressed in a timely manner. The FPCCI delegation showered appreciation of the Chairman's monthly engagement initiative.
The delegation further acknowledged that majority of the issues raised in the previous meeting had been resolved through the efforts of Member Operations (Inland Revenue and Customs) and their respective teams, terming this responsiveness as encouraging for the business community.
During the meeting, the delegation stressed the need for continued follow-up on the remaining outstanding matters and also raised few new issues, including some classification issues and old income tax refunds. The Chairman and his team assured the delegation that all issues — both pending and newly raised — would be taken up on priority basis and resolved in consultation with the concerned representatives of the Chambers and wings of FBR.
Speaking on the occasion, Chairman FBR expressed his commitment to resolving issues and continuing engagement with the business community.
The Chairman reiterated FBR's commitment to a facilitative and responsive approach toward the business community, emphasizing that such regular engagement with trade bodies including FPCCI would continue in order to promptly address taxpayer concerns and further strengthen trust between the tax administration and the business community. In the end chairman FBR requested FPCCI leaders to effectively campaign for retailers scheme so that tax base can be broadened and tax burden on already compliant taxpayers can be shared.

چیئرمین فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو راشد محمود لنگڑیال نے آج کراچی میں اپنے ماہانہ دورے کے دوران فیڈریشن آف پاکستان چیمبرز آف کامرس اینڈ انڈسٹری کے ایک وفد سے ملاقات کی۔ وفد کی قیادت ثاقب فیاض مگون نے کی جس میں ایف پی سی سی آئی کے سینئر عہدیداران اور کاروباری رہنما شامل تھے، جبکہ چیئرمین ایف بی آر کے ہمراہ ممبر اِن لینڈ ریونیو (آپریشنز)، ممبر کسٹمز (آپریشنز) اور ایف بی آر کے سینئر افسران بھی موجود تھے۔
ملاقات میں گزشتہ اجلاس میں زیرِ بحث آنے والے مختلف امور پر ہونے والی پیش رفت کا جائزہ بھی لیا گیا۔ ایف پی سی سی آئی کے وفد نے چیئرمین ایف بی آر کی جانب سے کراچی کے ماہانہ دوروں کے اقدام کو بھرپور سراہتے ہوئے اسے ایک مثبت اور خوش آئند قدم قرار دیا، جو کاروباری برادری کے ساتھ مستقل اور براہِ راست رابطے کے لیے حکومت کے عزم کی عکاسی کرتا ہے۔ وفد نے کہا کہ اس طرح کے باقاعدہ رابطوں سے ایف بی آر اور ٹریڈ باڈیز کے درمیان رابطوں میں نمایاں بہتری آئی ہے، جس سے مسائل بروقت حل کرنے میں مدد ملی ہے۔
وفد نے اس امر کو خوش آئند قرار دیا کہ گزشتہ اجلاس میں اٹھائے گئے بیشتر مسائل ممبر آپریشنز (اِن لینڈ ریونیو اور کسٹمز) اور ان کی متعلقہ ٹیموں کی کوششوں سے حل کر دیے گئے ہیں۔ وفد نے ایف بی آر کی جانب سے مسائل کے فوری حل کے لیے اختیار کیے گئے اس مثبت اور ذمہ دارانہ طرزِعمل کو کاروباری برادری کے لیے حوصلہ افزاء قرار دیا۔
اجلاس کے دوران وفد نے باقی ماندہ زیرِ التوا معاملات پر مسلسل فالو اَپ کی ضرورت پر زور دیا اور چند نئے مسائل بھی اٹھائے، جن میں بعض اشیاء کی Classification اور انکم ٹیکس کے پرانے ریفنڈز کے معاملات شامل ہیں۔ چیئرمین ایف بی آر اور ان کی ٹیم نے وفد کو یقین دہانی کرائی کہ زیر التوا اور نئے مسائل کوترجیحی بنیادوں پر متعلقہ چیمبرز اور ایف بی آر کے متعلقہ ونگز کی مشاورت کے ساتھ حل کیا جائے گا۔
اس موقع پر گفتگو کرتے ہوئے چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے کاروباری برادری کے مسائل کے حل اور ان سے مسلسل روابط جاری رکھنے کے عزم کا اظہار کیا۔
چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے کاروباری برادری کے لیے ہر ممکن سہولیات فراہم کرنے کے عزم کا اعادہ کیا۔ انہوں نے اس امر پر زور دیا کہ ایف پی سی سی آئی سمیت تمام ٹریڈ باڈیز کے ساتھ اس طرح کے روابط باقاعدگی سے جاری رکھے جائیں گے تاکہ ٹیکس دہندگان کے مسائل فوری طور پر حل کیے جا سکیں اور ٹیکس ایڈمنسٹریشن اور کاروباری برادری کے درمیان باہمی اعتماد کو مزید مضبوط بنایا جا سکے۔
اجلاس کے دوران چیئرمین ایف بی آر نے ایف پی سی سی آئی کے رہنماؤں پر زور دیا کہ وہ ریٹیلرز اسکیم کے حوالے سے مؤثر آگاہی مہم چلائیں تاکہ ٹیکس بیس کو وسیع کر کے پہلے سے ٹیکس قوانین پر عمل درآمد کرنے والے ٹیکس دہندگان پر عائد ٹیکس بوجھ کو کم کیا جا سکے۔
