In line with the vision of the Prime Minister and under strict directions of Chairman FBR, the Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation-Inland Revenue has expedited actions against counterfeit, illegal and non-duty paid cigarettes.
The performance of Directorate General of Intelligence and Investigation-Inland Revenue has been exemplary in the month of March, 2021. During the current ongoing month, Directorate of Intelligence and Investigation-Inland Revenue, Islamabad’s team has confiscated 900 cartons of illegal cigarettes in two raids conducted on GT road on the basis of intelligence tip. In an operation, 48 cartons of illegal cigarettes were confiscated through a raid on godown in Karachi. Similarly, 406 cartons of illegal cigarettes in two separate raids on different godowns and trucks carrying illicit/counterfeit /non-duty paid cigarettes were confiscated in Multan. The Directorate’s Peshawar team confiscated 25 cartons of illegal cigarettes and the Faisalabad’s team confiscated 286 cartons of illegal non-duty paid cigarettes in two separate raids. In total, 1665 cartons of illegal cigarettes containing 16,650,000 cigarette sticks have been seized so far in the current month.

وزیراعظم کے غیر قانونی تجارت کے خاتمے کے ویژن کے مطابق اور چئیرمین ایف بی آر کی سخت ہدایات کی تعمیل میں ڈائیریکٹوریٹ جنرل انٹیلیجنس اور انوسٹی گیشن آئی آر نے جعلی ، نان ڈیوٹی پیڈ اور غیر قانونی سگریٹس کے خلاف آپریشنز تیز کر دیئے ہیں۔
اس سلسلے میں اب تک ڈائیریکٹوریٹ جنرل انٹیلیجنس اور انوسٹی گیشن آئی آر نے مارچ کے ماہ میں بہترین کارکردگی کا مظاہرہ کیا ہے۔ رواں ماہ میں ڈایریکٹوریٹ کی اسلام آباد ٹیم نے دو مختلف آپریشنز میں جی ٹی روڈ پر 900 غیر قانونی سگریٹس کے کارٹنز ضبط کئے ۔ ڈائیریکٹوریٹ کی کراچی ٹیم نے گودام پر پر چھاپہ مار کر 48 غیر قانونی سگریٹس کے کارنٹز ضبط کئے ۔ ملتان ٹیم نے دو مختلف آپریشنز میں گوداموں اور ٹرک کی تلاشی کے دوران 406 غیر قانونی سگریٹس کے کارٹنز ضبط کئے ۔ پشاور اور فیصل آباد کی ٹیمز نے باالترتیب 25 کارٹنز اور 286 کارٹنز ضبط کئے۔ اس طرح اب تک مارچ کے ماہ میں 1665 غیر قانونی سگریٹ کے کارٹنز جن میں 1 کروڑ 66 لاکھ 50 ہزار سگریٹ سٹکس تھے ، کو ضبط کیا۔
