Nine probationary officers of the Inland Revenue Service (IRS) from the 53rd Common Training Programme (CTP), undergoing training at the Civil Services Academy (CSA), Lahore, visited the Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) Headquarters as part of their Inland Study Tour. The visit aimed to familiarize the newly inducted officers with the organizational structure, functions, and operational framework of FBR.
The officers were briefed in a session chaired by Mr. Zubair Bilal, Member Inland Revenue (Operations), who highlighted the role of FBR in revenue collection and tax administration. He emphasized the professional competencies required from FBR officers, including strong expertise in taxation and accounting, along with a sound understanding of tax laws. He also outlined the mandate of the Inland Revenue Operations Wing, focusing on revenue enhancement through taxpayer profiling, data-driven analysis, and effective sharing of actionable intelligence with field formations.
Mr. Shafqat Rasool Sandhu, Secretary Inland Revenue Operations, delivered detailed presentations on FBR’s revenue mobilization strategies, institutional reforms, and change management initiatives. He further briefed the officers on the cadre structure, roles, and responsibilities of officers, and their contribution to the overall functioning of the organization. The presentations were followed by an interactive question-and-answer session in which the probationary officers actively participated.
At the conclusion of the visit, the faculty of the Civil Services Academy appreciated the FBR management for arranging a comprehensive and informative briefing. As a gesture of goodwill souvenirs were exchanged.
The faculty and probationary officers termed the visit highly successful, noting that it provided valuable insights into FBR’s role in fiscal governance, institutional reform, and public sector modernization.

ان لینڈ ریونیو سروس کے 53ویں کامن ٹریننگ پروگرام (Common Training Program)کے نو پروبیشنری افسران نے اپنے اِن لینڈ اسٹڈی ٹور کے سلسلے میں فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو ہیڈکوارٹرز کا دورہ کیا۔ اس دورے کا مقصد پروبیشنری افسران کو ایف بی آر کے تنظیمی ڈھانچے، فرائض اور آپریشنل فریم ورک سے آگاہ کرنا تھا۔یہ افسران اس وقت سول سروسز اکیڈمی لاہور میں زیر تربیت ہیں۔
ممبر اِن لینڈ ریونیو (آپریشنز) زبیر بلال کی زیر صدارت پروبیشنری افسران کو بریفنگ دی گئی۔ انہوں نے محصولات کی وصولی اور ریونیو کلیکشن میں ایف بی آر کے کردار پر روشنی ڈالی۔ انہوں نے ایف بی آر افسران کے لیے درکار پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیتوں کا ذکر کیا جن میں ٹیکسیشن اور اکاؤنٹنگ میں بہترین مہارت کے ساتھ ساتھ ٹیکس قوانین کی جامع سمجھ بوجھ شامل ہے۔ انہوں نے اِن لینڈ ریونیو آپریشنز ونگ کے مینڈیٹ کا بھی خاکہ پیش کیا جس میں ٹیگس دہندگان کی پروفائلنگ، ڈیٹا پر مبنی تجزیہ، اور فیلڈ فارمیشنز کے ساتھ قابلِ عمل انٹیلی جنس کے مؤثر تبادلے کے ذریعے محصولات میں اضافے پرزور دیا گیا ۔
سیکریٹری اِن لینڈ ریونیو آپریشنز شفقت رسول سندھو نے ایف بی آر کی محصولات میں اضافہ کرنے کی حکمتِ عملیوں، ادارہ جاتی اصلاحات اورانتظامی تبدیلیوں کے اقدامات پر تفصیلی پریزنٹیشنز دی۔ انہوں نے دورے پر آئے ہوئے افسران کو کیڈر اسٹرکچر، افسران کے کردار اور ذمہ داریوں اور ادارے کی مجموعی کارکردگی میں ان کے کردار کے بارے میں بھی آگاہ کیا۔ پریزنٹیشن کے بعد سوال و جواب کا ایک انٹرایکٹو سیشن(Interactive Session) منعقد ہوا جس میں پروبیشنری افسران نے بھرپور شرکت کی۔
دورے کے اختتام پر سول سروسز اکیڈمی کی فیکلٹی نے جامع اور معلوماتی بریفنگ کے انعقاد پر ایف بی آر انتظامیہ کا شکریہ ادا کیا۔ خیرسگالی کے اظہار کے طور پر سووینئرز کا تبادلہ بھی کیا گیا۔
فیکلٹی اور پروبیشنری افسران نے اس دورے کو انتہائی کامیاب قرار دیا اور کہا کہ اس سے مالیاتی نظم ونسق ، ادارہ جاتی اصلاحات اور سرکاری شعبہ کی جدت کاری میں ایف بی آر کے کردار کے بارے میں قابل قدر معلومات حاصل ہوئیں۔
