Collectorate of Customs (Airports), Karachi Foils Two Attempts to Smuggle Marijuana Worth Rs. 57.43 Million
Air Cargo Control Unit (ACCU), Collectorate of Customs (Airport), Karachi, have successfully foiled two attempts to smuggle marijuana through the International Mail Office (IMO), Karachi, seizing a total of 1.87 kilograms of narcotics worth approximately Rs. 57.43 million.
The seizures were made in two separate cases during routine scanning and physical examination of suspicious parcels arriving from the United States of America. In the first case, 370 grams of marijuana worth Rs. 11.36 million was recovered from a parcel falsely declared as containing “shirts.” In the second case, 1.5 kilograms of marijuana valued at Rs. 46.07 million was concealed in a parcel declared as “nylon carpet samples.”
Both detections were carried out as part of daily risk profiling and examination procedures at the IMO under the supervision of the Assistant Collector, ACCU. The narcotics were seized in accordance with applicable laws, and further legal proceedings are underway.
The FBR reaffirms its firm commitment to curbing smuggling, narcotics trafficking, and illicit trade through all channels, including international mail.

ایئر کارگو کنٹرول یونٹ کلکٹریٹ آف کسٹمز (ایئرپورٹ) کراچی نے انٹرنیشنل میل آفس کراچی کے ذریعے چرس اسمگل کرنے کی دو کوششوں کو ناکام بناتے ہوئے مجموعی طور پر 1.87 کلوگرام چرس برآمد کر لی جس کی مالیت پانچ کروڑ چوہتر لاکھ تیس ہزار روپے ہے۔
امریکہ سے آنے والے مشتبہ پارسلز کی معمول کی اسکیننگ اور جانچ پڑتال کے دوران ایک پارسل سے 370 گرام چرس برآمد کی گئی جس کی مالیت ایک کروڑ تیرہ لاکھ ساٹھ ہزار روپے تھی۔ اس پارسل کو ’’ شرٹس‘‘ ظاہر کیا گیا تھا ۔ دوسرے پارسل میں ’’نائلون کارپٹ کے نمونے‘‘ ظاہر کیے گئے جبکہ اس میں 1.5 کلوگرام چرس چھپا کر اسمگل کی جا رہی تھی جس کی مالیت چار کروڑ ساٹھ لاکھ ستر ہزار روپے تھی۔ دونوں پارسلوں کا الگ الگ مقدمہ ردج کرلیا گیا ہے ۔
انٹرنیشنل میل آفس میں اسسٹنٹ کلکٹر ایئر کارگو کنٹرول یونٹ کی نگرانی میں دونوں پارسلز سے ہونے والی برآمدگیاں روزمرہ کی رسک پروفائلنگ اور جانچ پڑتال کے طریقۂ کار کے تحت عمل میں آئیں۔ منشیات کو متعلقہ قوانین کے تحت ضبط کر لیا گیا ہے جبکہ مزید قانونی کارروائی جاری ہے۔
