The Marine Enforcement Unit of the Collectorate of Customs (Enforcement), Karachi, achieved a major breakthrough in its ongoing anti-smuggling drive by intercepting three vessels (wooden launches) involved in the smuggling of 132,564 litres of Iranian-origin High-Speed Diesel (HSD) during the night between 9th and 10th October 2025.
The operation was initiated on the basis of credible intelligence report regarding the movement of smuggled petroleum products through the coastal route. Acting swiftly, a Marine Enforcement Team, comprising Preventive Officers, namely, Ayaz Ali and Saleem Yusuf, immediately left for the pointed locations in deep waters to launch a well-coordinated pursuit at sea. After spotting the targeted boats accurately in the areas of Somiani, Phor/Sapat interceptions were made one by one with professional excellence and once apprehended the boats were sailed towards ASO office at Karachi port without any harm to human lives.
The seized diesel is valued at Rs. 33.14 million, while the three wooden launches are valued at Rs. 45 million, bringing the total value of the seizure to Rs. 78.14 million. This marks the *largest single-operation recovery of POL products by the Marine Unit to date.
Earlier in September 2025, the Marine team conducted multiple successful operations near Ormara and Sonmiani Bay, resulting in additional recoveries of 18,271 litres and 29,272 litres of smuggled HSD, respectively. These consecutive actions highlight the Unit’s consistent progress, enhanced surveillance, and effective operational coordination, despite severe manpower and resource limitations.
The team’s dedication, vigilance, and professionalism have led to unprecedented results in countering organized maritime smuggling network.

کلکٹریٹ آف کسٹمز (انفورسمنٹ)، کراچی کے میرین انفورسمنٹ یونٹ نے اپنی جاری انسدادِ اسمگلنگ مہم میں ایک بڑی کامیابی حاصل کی ہے۔ یونٹ نے 9 اور 10 اکتوبر 2025 کی درمیانی شب کارروائی کرتے ہوئے تین لانچوں کو پکڑلیا جن پر 132,564 لیٹر ایرانی ہائی اسپیڈ ڈیزل اسمگل کیاجارہا تھا۔
یہ کارروائی مستند خفیہ اطلاعات کی بنیاد پر کی گئی، جن میں بتایا گیا تھا کہ ساحلی راستے سے پٹرولیم مصنوعات کو اسمگل کیا جارہا ہے ۔ اطلاعات موصول ہونے پر میرین انفورسمنٹ ٹیم، جس میں پریوینٹیو افسران (Preventive Officers)ایاز علی اور سلیم یوسف شامل تھے، فوری طور پر گہرے سمندر میں بتائے گئے مقامات کی طرف روانہ ہوئی اور ایک منظم کارروائی کا آغاز کیا۔ ٹیم نے سومیانی ، پھور اور ساپت کے علاقوں میں مطلوبہ لانچوں کا درست سراغ لگا کریکے بعد دیگرے سب کو پیشہ ورانہ مہارت کے ساتھ روک لیا۔پکڑے جانے کے بعد لانچوں کوبغیر کسی جانی نقصان کے کراچی پورٹ پر اے ایس او دفتر پہنچا دیا گیا۔
ضبط شدہ ڈیزل کی مالیت تقریباً 33.14 ملین روپے ہے جبکہ تینوں لانچوں کی مالیت 45 ملین روپے ہے، اس طرح کل ضبطی کی مجموعی مالیت 78.14 ملین روپے بنتی ہے۔ یہ میرین یونٹ کی جانب سے ایک کارروائی میں پٹرولیم مصنوعات کی اب تک کی سب سے بڑی برآمدگی ہے۔
اس سے قبل ستمبر 2025 میں میرین ٹیم نے اورماڑہ اور سونمیانی ساحل کے قریب متعدد کامیاب کارروائیاں کی تھیں جن میں بالترتیب 18,271 لیٹر اور 29,272 لیٹر اسمگل شدہ ہائی اسپیڈ ڈیزل برآمد کیا گیا تھا۔باوجود محدود افرادی اور مالی وسائل کے یہ مسلسل کامیابیاں, یونٹ کی بہتر نگرانی، مؤثر آپریشنل ہم آہنگی کی عکاسی کرتی ہیں۔
ٹیم کی لگن، مستعدی اور پیشہ ورانہ صلاحیتوں کے باعث سمندرکے راستے اسمگلنگ کے منظم نیٹ ورک کے خلاف غیر معمولی نتائج حاصل ہوئے ہیں۔
