In perpetuation of FBR’s outreach activities for promoting tax compliance and citizenship education, FBR has engaged with the youth on campus enrolled at various leading public and private universities by signing an MoU with Bahria University, NUST, Islamabad and Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad. FBR has also proposed to establish a vibrant students’ forum named as TACS (Tax Awareness & Compliance Society) with a view to promote education and awareness about taxation through focused group discussions, seminars, lectures and walks. Pressing the MoU in practice, FBR coordinated an interactive session hosted by School of Management Sciences at Quaid-e-Azam University, Islamabad.
Mr. Muhammad Asad Tahir, Director Media/Spokesperson FBR addressed the students and dilated upon the scope and significance of paying taxes for the country. He emphasized that the students are not only the custodians of the future of this country but will soon be potential taxpayers as they start their practical lives. Hence, it is imperative that they should also become brand ambassadors of FBR and ask their immediate relations for discharging their tax liabilities so that our country becomes economically self-sufficient and is freed from the menace of heavy borrowing both national and international.
Subsequently, the students and faculty members asked some very pertinent questions about taxation which were answered and clarified by Director Media. He removed some misconceptions about the tax administration and enlightened the audience about the latest initiatives taken by FBR in maximizing revenue collection and ensuring ease of doing business, especially those related to the digital interventions. In the end, a very interesting quiz program about taxation in Pakistan was moderated by Mr. Rashid Javaid Rana, Secretary Facilitation and Taxpayers Education, FBR in which the winning students were given away token prizes by Director Media, FBR, Assistant Professors Dr. Ali Raza and Dr. Waseem Abbas Shaheen from the Quaid-e-Azam University.

ٹیکس کمپلائنس اور شہریت کی تعلیم کو فروغ دینے کے لیے ایف بی آر کی آؤٹ ریچ سرگرمیوں کے تسلسل میں ایف بی آر نے بحریہ یونیورسٹی، نسٹ، اسلام آباد اور قائداعظم یونیورسٹی، اسلام آباد کے ساتھ ایک مفاہمت کی یادداشت پر دستخط کرکے مختلف سرکردہ سرکاری اور نجی یونیورسٹیوں میں داخل ہونے والے کیمپس میں طلباء سے بات چیت کی ۔ . ایف بی آر نے TACS (ٹیکس آگاہی اور کمپلائنس )کے نام سے طلباء کیلئے ایک متحرک فورم کے قیام کی تجویز بھی پیش کی ہے جس کا مقصد توجہ طلب گروپ ڈسکشنز، سیمینارز، لیکچرز اور واک کے ذریعے ٹیکس کے متعلق تعلیم اور آگاہی کو فروغ دینا ہے۔ ایم او یو کو عملی جامہ پہنانے کیلئےایف بی آر نے قائداعظم یونیورسٹی، اسلام آباد میں سکول آف مینجمنٹ سائنسز کے زیر اہتمام ایک انٹرایکٹو سیشن کا انعقاد کیا۔
محمد اسد طاہرڈائریکٹر میڈیا/ترجمان ایف بی آر نے طلباء سے خطاب کرتے ہوئے ملک کے لیے ٹیکس کی ادائیگی کے دائرہ کار اور اہمیت کو اجاگر کیا ۔ انہوں نے اس بات پر زور دیا کہ طلباء نہ صرف ملکی مستقبل کے رکھوالے ہیں بلکہ اپنی عملی زندگی کا آغاز کرتے ہوئے جلد ہی ممکنہ ٹیکس گزار بنیں گے۔ اس لیے ضروری ہے کہ وہ ایف بی آر کے برانڈ ایمبیسیڈر بھی بن جائیں اور اپنے تعلق داروں کو اپنے ٹیکس واجبات کی ادائیگی کی جانب راغب کریں تاکہ ہمارا ملک معاشی طور پر خود کفیل ہو اور قومی اور بین الاقوامی بھاری قرضوں کے ناسور سے آزاد ہو ۔
بعد ازاں طلباء اور فیکلٹی ممبران کی جانب سے ٹیکس کے بارے میں چند موزوں ترین سوالات پوچھے گئے اور ڈائریکٹر میڈیا نے ان کے جوابات دیئے۔ ٹیکس انتظامیہ کے بارے میں چند غلط فہمیوں کی بھی وضاحت کی اور ریونیو ایڈمنسٹریشن میں ہونے والی تازہ ترین پیشرفت، بالخصوص تکنیکی عوامل اور ڈیجیٹلائزیشن پر بھی روشنی ڈالی ۔آخر میں راشد جاوید رانا، سیکرٹری فیسیلی ٹیشن اینڈ ٹیکس پیئرز ایجوکیشن، ایف بی آر نے پاکستان میں ٹیکس کے بارے میں ایک دلچسپ کوئز پروگرام کی نظامت کی اور جیتنے والے طلباء کو ڈائریکٹر میڈیاایف بی آر اور قائد اعظم یونیورسٹی فیکلٹی کی جانب سے اسسٹنٹ پروفیسرز ڈاکٹر علی رضا اور اور ڈاکٹر وسیم عباس شاہین نے ٹوکن انعامات تقسیم کئے ۔
