FBR issues rebuttal on a news item

Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a rebuttal on a news item published in Daily Business Recorder and clarified that the meeting held under the chair of Special Assistant to Prime Minister on Revenue only consulted the budget 2021-22 preparation of FBR. It has been categorically expressed by FBR that no decision or consultation whatsoever, was made in the meeting with regards to imposition of any new tax in the coming budget. The caption of the news story and related content is not correct. ایف بی آر کی اخباری خبر کی تردید فیڈرل بور ڈ آف ریونیو نےانگریزی روزنامہ بزنس ریکارڈر میں چھپنے والی خبر کی تردید کرتے ہوئے کہا ہے کہ وزیر اعظم کے معاون خصوصی برائے ریونیو کی زیر صدارت ہونے والی میٹنگ میں آئندہ بجٹ 22-2021 کے حوالے سے معمول کی مشاورت کی گئی اور تیاریوں کا جائزہ لیا گیا۔ میٹنگ میں آئندہ پیش کئے جانے والے بجٹ میں ایف بی آر کی طرف سے کوئی نیا ٹیکس نہ لگانے کے بارے میں کوئی مشاورت یا پالیسی ترتیب نہیں دی گئی۔ اس حوالے سے خبر کے عنوان اور اس کے متن میں کوئی نیا ٹیکس نہ لگانے کے حوالے سے معلومات درست نہیں ہیں۔
