As part of ongoing outreach to Designated Non-Financial Businesses and Professions (DNFBPs), Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) in collaboration with United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) organized capacity building training sessions on AML/CFT compliance at Lahore. The representatives from FBR, Financial Monitoring Unit (FMU), National Counter Terrorism Authority (NACTA), Institute of Chartered Accounts of Pakistan (ICAP) and Ministry of foreign affairs (MoFA) were the key-note speakers in the training sessions. The participants included real estate agents, jewellers, accountants and lawyers.
In his opening remarks, Mr. Mohammad Iqbal, Director General DNFBPs, apprised the participants of the steps taken to reinforce the anti-money laundering and countering terrorist financing regimes in Pakistan and emphasized on sustained counter measures in the non-financial sectors of the country. The participants were informed that FBR will continue to facilitate DNFBPs to build their understanding of AML/CFT regime, to enable them to perform their functions, efficiently.
The speakers apprised the DNFBPs on various aspects of AML/CFT, such as screening the lists of proscribed or UN designated persons and organizations, customer’s due diligence, suspicious transaction reporting and the national risk assessment on money laundering and terrorist financing.
The real estate agents, jewellers and other participants expressed their commitment to combat money laundering and financing of terrorism in the best national interest.
The DG DNFBPs highlighted that FBR as the AML/CFT regulatory authority will continue supervising and facilitating the DNFBPs, so that the ill-gotten proceeds of crimes cannot be stashed in the real estate, gold or precious metals and stones. The sessions were warmly welcomed and generously acknowledged by the participants.

فیڈرل بورڈ آف ریونیو نے اقوام متحدہ کے ادارہ برائے منشیات و کرائم کے اشتراک سے ڈی این ایف بی پیز کے لئے انیٹی منی لانڈرنگ اور دہشت گردی کی مالی معاونت کی روک تھام پر مبنی ٹرینینگ سیشن کے سلسلے کو جاری رکھتے ہوئے لاہور میں اس کا انعقاد کیا۔ اس ٹرینینگ سیشن میں ایف بی آر، فنانشل مانیٹرنگ یونٹ ، نیشنل کاؤنٹر ٹیرارزم اتھارٹی ، انسٹیٹیوٹ آف چارٹرڈ اکاؤنٹس آف پاکستان اور وزارت خارجہ کے نمائیندگان نے خطاب کیا۔ شرکاء میں رئیل اسٹیٹ ایجنٹس، جیولرز، اکاؤنٹینٹس اور وکلاء شامل تھے۔
افتتاحیہ کلمات میں ڈی جی ڈی این ایف بی پیز محمد اقبال نے پاکستان میں منی لانڈرنگ اور دہشت گردی کی مالی معاونت کی روک تھام کے حوالے سے اقدامات کے بارے میں آگاہ کیا اور ملکی نان فنانشل سیکٹر میں اس کی روک تھام پر جاری اقدامات کے بارے میں زور دیا۔مزید کہا کہ ایف بی آر ڈی این ایف بی پیز کو منی لانڈرنگ اور دہشت گردی کی مالی معاونت کی روک تھام کے حوالے سے آگاہی دینے کے سلسلہ اور اس حوالے سے دی گئی سہولیات کو جاری رکھے گا تاکہ ڈی این ایف بی پیز احسن طریقہ سے اپنی ذمہ داری کو ادا کر سکیں۔
ٹرینینگ سیشن کے نمائیندگان نے اپنے خطابات میں ڈی این ایف بی پیز کو منی لانڈرنگ اور دہشت گردی کی مالی معاونت کی روک تھام سے متعلقہ مختلف پہلوؤں کا تذکرہ کیا جن میں اقوام متحدہ کی طرف سے ممنوعہ اشخاص اور اداروں کی سکرینینگ لسٹ ، مشکوک ٹرانزیکشنز اور رپورٹنگ اور منی لانڈرنگ اور دہشت گردی کی مالی معاونت پر قومی رسک اسیسمنٹ شامل ہیں۔رئیل اسٹیٹ ایجنٹس ، جیولرز اور دوسرے شرکاء نے ملکی مفاد میں منی لانڈرنگ اور دہشت گردی کی مالی معاونت کی روک تھام کے حوالے سے اپنے پختہ عزم کا اظہار کیا۔
ڈی جی ڈی این ایف بی پیز نے کہا کہ ایف بی آر بطور ریگیولیٹری اتھارٹی منی لانڈرنگ اور دہشت گردی کی مالی معاونت کی روک تھام کے حوالے سے ڈی این ایف بی پیز کی نگرانی اور ان کو ذمہ داریوں کی ادائیگی کے حوالے سے دی گئی سہولیات کو جاری رکھے گا تا کہ جرم سے حاصل کیا گیا پیسہ رئیل اسٹیٹ ، سونا اور قیمتی دھاتوں اور پتھروں کی خریداری کی صورت میں چھپایا نہ جا سکے۔آخر میں تمام شرکاء نے ٹرینینگ سیشن کے کامیاب انعقاد کی تعریف کی۔
