FBR Partners with LUMS to Upskill FBR Officers in AI, Data Science, and Modern Tax Administration
Islamabad, February 17, 2026 — Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), has signed contract with the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) for the delivery of customized professional certificates for FBR officers. The signing ceremony was attended by Chairman FBR, Member (Admin/HR), Member IR-Operations, Member Customs-Operations, Directors General Inland Revenue Service and Customs Academies, and other officers of FBR. From LUMS, the Dean of the Suleman Dawood School of Business and the Associate Dean of the Rausing Executive Development Centre were present.
Under this certification program, FBR officers from both Inland Revenue and Pakistan Customs Services will undertake three-week intensive certifications in technical areas critical to modern tax and customs administration — including artificial intelligence, data science, revenue forecasting, customs valuation, advanced audit strategies, supply chain, trade facilitation, and accounting. All BS-17 and 18 officers will have to complete two mandatory certifications, with each certification course delivered through three weeks of in-person instruction, hands-on labs, and rigorous proctored examinations.
This initiative is part of the FBR’s ongoing transformation plan and follows the successful launch of the nine-months Post Graduate Diploma program for newly inducted officers of FBR at LUMS. LUMS has been a committed collaborative partner in FBR’s transformation journey, and this initiative further strengthens the partnership.

اسلام آباد، 17 فروری 2026 ایف بی آر نے اپنے افسران کے لیے خصوصی پیشہ ورانہ سرٹیفکیٹس کی فراہمی کے سلسلے میں لاہور یونیورسٹی آف مینجمنٹ سائنسز (لمز) کے ساتھ معاہدے پر دستخط کر دیے ہیں۔ دستخطی تقریب میں چیئرمین ایف بی آر، ممبرایڈمن/ایچ آر، ممبر ان لینڈ ریونیو آپریشنز، ممبر کسٹمز آپریشنز، ڈائریکٹر جنرل ان لینڈ ریونیو سروس و کسٹمز اکیڈمیز اور دیگر افسران نے شرکت کی۔ لمز کی جانب سے سلیمان داؤد اسکول آف بزنس کے ڈین اور راوزنگ ایگزیکٹو ڈیولپمنٹ سینٹر(Rousing Executive Development Center) کے ایسوسی ایٹ ڈین نے شرکت کی۔
اس سرٹیفکیشن پروگرام کے تحت ان لینڈ ریونیو اور پاکستان کسٹمز سروسز کے افسران جدید ٹیکس اور کسٹمز ایڈمنسٹریشن سے متعلق اہم تکنیکی شعبہ جات میں تین ہفتوں پر مشتمل جامع کورسز کریں گے جن میں مصنوعی ذہانت، ڈیٹا سائنس، ریونیو فورکاسٹنگ، کسٹمز ویلیوایشن، جدید آڈٹ حکمتِ عملیاں، سپلائی چین، تجارتی سہولت کاری اور اکاؤنٹنگ شامل ہیں۔ گریڈ 17 اور 18 کے تمام افسران کے لیے دو سرٹیفکیٹس مکمل کرنا لازمی ہوگا، اور ہر کورس تین ہفتوں کی بالمشافہ تدریس، پریکٹیکل لیبارٹری سیشنز اور سخت نگرانی میں منعقد امتحانات پر مشتمل ہوگا۔ یہ اقدام ایف بی آر کے جاری ٹرانسفارمیشن پلان کا حصہ ہے اور لمز میں ایف بی آر کے نئے بھرتی ہونے والے افسران کے لیے نو ماہ پر مشتمل پوسٹ گریجویٹ ڈپلومہ پروگرام کے کامیاب آغاز کے بعد ایک اور اہم پیش رفت ہے۔ لمز ایف بی آر کی اصلاحاتی کاوشوں میں ایک اہم شراکت دار رہا ہے، اور یہ نیا اقدام اس شراکت داری کو مزید مضبوط بنائے گا۔ ایف بی آر اپنی افرادی قوت میں سرمایہ کاری کے ذریعے ایک جدید اور مستقبل سے ہم آہنگ ٹیکس ایڈمنسٹریشن تشکیل دینے کے لئے پر عزم ہے۔
