Upon attaining the age of superannuation, the Federal Board of Revenue’s Member (Legal & Accounting Customs), Mr. Saeed Akram, has retired from government service today.

 

Throughout his illustrious career, Mr. Akram served with unwavering dedication and professionalism. Having joined the Pakistan Customs Service in 1996, he accumulated extensive experience in various field formations, particularly in the Appraisement Karachi. Over the years, he held key managerial positions across the Customs Department, working in diverse areas such as customs tariff and HS codes, examination and assessment of goods, anti-smuggling operations, compliance and risk management, post-clearance audit, administration, and human resource management.

 

 

He has also made significant contributions to capacity building within the department. Mr. Akram trained both in-service and newly inducted Customs officers, as well as Customs brokers, at the Directorate General of Training and Research (DGTR), Karachi. He further represented DGTR in collaborative initiatives with international organizations, including the World Customs Organization (WCO), the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC) and USAID. 

 

Mr. Akram holds a Master’s degree in Policy Analysis and Public Finance Administration from Indiana University Bloomington, USA, and an LLB (Honours) from the University of London.

 

To acknowledge his valuable services, a modest ceremony was held at FBR. On the occasion, Chairman FBR, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, along with Board Members, commended Mr. Akram’s contributions and wished him good health and success in his future endeavours. On the occasion, the Chairman FBR also presented a commemorative shield to the retiring officer in recognition of his distinguished services.
