In a major operation against smugglers, Pakistan Customs(FBR), Quetta has seized 11 containers fully stuffed with smuggled goods.

In a well coordinated and successful operation on Saturday and Sunday nights in two districts bordering Punjab, the anti-smuggling squads of Customs Enforcement Quetta seized eleven (11) containers of smuggled goods.

These operations were personally supervised by the Collector Enforcement Quetta, assisted by LEAs.

 

Four of these containers are fully loaded with fabric, 3 with new tyres and 4 with mixed goods including fabric, tyres, cigarettes, bettelnuts etc. CIF Value of the seized goods/containers is  assessed to be Rs. 380 million, having market value of approximately Rs.475 million.FIR has been lodged against unknown persons and further investigation is underway.

 

It is pertinent to mention that Federal Board of Revenue is following a policy of zero tolerance against smuggling and thereby has increased its vigilance and surveillance of cargo movement across the border. Finance Minister, Shaukat Tarin, has commended FBR for its successful anti-smuggling drive across Pakistan. Likewise, Chairman FBR/Secretary Revenue Division, Dr.Muhammad Ashfaq Ahmed has appreciated Muhammad Sadiq, Chief Collector Customs, Quetta  and Fareed Ahmad Khan,Collector Customs Enforcement, Quetta  for ensuring zero tolerance against smuggling of all shades and grades. He also announced cash awards and commendation certificates for the Customs Team on accomplishing this rare feat of professionalism and bravery. He further reiterated his unflinching resolve to fight the menace of smuggling across the country in order to maximize tax compliance.

اسمگلرز کے خلاف بڑے کریک ڈاؤن میں پاکستان کسٹمز ( ایف بی آر ) کوئٹہ نے ہفتے اور اتوار کی درمیانی شب صوبہ پنجاب سے ملحقہ دو سرحدی اضلاع  میں کاروائی کرتے ہوئے اسمگل شدہ سامان سے بھرے 11 کنٹینر ضبط کر لئے۔ ان دونوں کاروائیوں میں کلیکٹر انفورسمنٹ کوئٹہ نے خود نگرانی کی جبکہ دیگر قانون نافذ کرنے والے اداروں نے بھی معاونت فراہم کی۔ 

ضبط شدہ کنٹینرز میں 4 قیمتی کپڑوں سے ، جبکہ 3 نئے ٹائروں سے اور بقیہ میں کپڑے ، ٹائرز اور سگریٹس وغیرہ بھرے ہوئے تھے۔ 

ایک اندازے کے مطابق ضبط شدہ سامان کی پیداواری لاگت 380 ملین روپے جبکہ مارکیٹ قیمت 475 ملین روپے ہے۔ اس واقعے کی ایف آئی آر نامعلوم افراد کے خلاف درج کرلی گئی ہے اور مزید تفتیش جاری ہے۔ 

یاد رہے کہ ایف بی آر ہر قسم کی اسمگلنگ کے خلاف کسی قسم کی رعایت نہ کرنے کی حکمت عملی پہ عمل پیرا ہے اسی وجہ سے سرحد پہ سامان کی نقل و حمل کی کڑی نگرانی میں مزید اضافہ کردیا گیا ہے۔ وزیر خزانہ جناب شوکت ترین نے ملک بھر ایف بی آر کی جاری انسداد اسمگلنگ مہم کو سراہا۔ چئیرمین ایف بی آر و سیکرٹری ریونیو ڈویژن ڈاکٹر محمد اشفاق نے بھی ہر قسم کی اسمگلنگ کے خلاف کوئی بھی رعایت نہ دینے کی پالیسی پہ عملدرآمد یقینی بنانے کے لئے چیف کلکٹر کسٹمز کوئٹہ محمد صادق اور کلکٹر کسٹمز انفورسمنٹ کوئٹہ فرید احمد خان کو خراج تحسین پیش کیا۔ انہوں نے پیشہ ورانہ مہارت اور بہادری کے اس کارنامے پہ کسٹمز حکام کے لئے تعریفی اسناد اور نقد انعامات کا اعلان بھی کیا۔ اس دوران انہوں نے اس امر کا اعادہ کیا کہ ایف بی آر ملک بھر میں ٹیکس کلچر کو عام کرنے اور اسمگلنگ کی روک تھام کے لئے اپنے غیر متزلزل عزم پہ قائم ہے۔
