FBR Conducts Tax Awareness Session at Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Gujranwala on January 6th, 2026

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), through its Taxpayers Services Wing, organized a Tax Awareness Session at Gujranwala Chamber of Commerce & Industry, Gujranwala on January 6th, 2026. The initiative was undertaken under the directions of Chairman FBR Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing Ms. Tehmina Aamer, the Federal Board of Revenue, through its Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS), organized a comprehensive Tax Awareness Session at (GCCI), as part of its ongoing nationwide initiative to promote tax literacy.
 
The FBR team comprised of Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz (Secretary Tax Education & Facilitation), Mr. Abdul Rehman Sheikh (Second Secretary of Tax Facilitation), along with other staff members from the Taxpayers Services Wing. Representing the GCCI, the session included Mr. Ali Hamyoon Butt (President), Mr. Saad Jamil Irfani (Senior Vice President), Mr. Faisal Sattar Mughal (Vice President), and other executive members. In his opening comments, Mr. Muhmmad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz (Secretary of Tax Education & Facilitation) provided a detailed overview of the FBR and its functions. Subsequently, Mr. Abdul Rehman Sheikh (Second Secretary Facilitation) gave a presentation on reforms introduced under the FBR Transformation Plan. He highlighted major initiatives including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Track & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Faceless Customs System, Cargo Tracking System, Direct Port Delivery System, Reward & Rating System, and Video Analytics for production monitoring in different sectors. He informed the participants that Video Analytics has already been deployed in the sugar and cement sectors and is currently being implemented in the textile sector.
The audience demonstrated a strong interest and asked numerous questions regarding tax-related issues, which the FBR team addressed effectively. The participants appreciated the efforts made by FBR to enhance the department's positive image and to foster a culture of tax compliance. During the Q&A session, participants exhibited a keen interest and curiosity regarding different taxation concepts. The event wrapped up with the exchange of souvenirs among the representatives of the organizations.
