FBR Conducts Tax Awareness Session at HUM TV Network in Karachi on December 18th, 2025
The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR), through its Taxpayers Services Wing, organized a Tax Awareness Session at HUM Tv Network in Karachi dated i.e. 18-12-2025. The initiative was undertaken under the directions of Chairman FBR Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial and Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing Ms. Tehmina Aamer, the Federal Board of Revenue, through its Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS), organized a comprehensive Tax Awareness Session at HUM Tv Network in Karachi on December 18th, 2025.
The FBR delegation comprised Mr. Abdul Hameed Abro, Secretary (Taxpayers Services), and Mr. Tariq Asad, Second Secretary, Taxpayers Services Wing.
Mr. Abdul Hameed Abro delivered a comprehensive presentation. which was followed by an interactive discussion with the participants, focusing on taxpayers' responsibilities and addressing misconceptions regarding the role and functions of FBR.
Senior management of HUM TV Network participated in the session, including Chief Finance Officer Mr. Muhammad Abbas Hussam along with other executive members. During the session, it was emphasized that levying taxes both direct and indirect, a fundamental function of the state and that tax payment is mandatory for individuals and entities, as early 90 percent of government revenue is generated through various forms of taxation. The speakers also high lighted the criteria for becoming a tax files, the associated privileges, and FBR's enforcement strategy.
It was shared with the participants that FBR now possesses comprehensive data and has adopted advanced technologies, including Artificial Intelligence, to effectively curbs tax evasion.
At the conclusion of the seminar, FBR officers presented souvenirs to the management of HUM TV Network and expressed appreciation for their valuable support in facilitating this important awareness activity.
