Tax Awareness Outreach Activity at Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce & Industry Karachi on January, 30th 2026

On instructions of the Chairman FBR, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and under the supervision of Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) Madam Tehmina Aamer, the TPS Wing in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FPCCI), organized an awareness seminar on 30th January, 2026 at Federation House, Karachi. 
 
Federal Board of Revenue, in collaboration with the Federation of Pakistan Chamber of Commerce and Industry, arranged a seminar today at Federation House Karachi. The seminar aimed at apprising the business community of the transformation plan undertaken by the FBR for facilitating the general public and making the people aware regarding about the impacts of the Transformation plan on the broadening of tax base, enhancement in departmental transparency in the overall revenue collection mechanism.  
 
Secretary Taxpayers Services Wing Mr. Abdul Hameed Abro, accompanied by Second Secretary (Media) TPS wing Mr. Tariq Asad, gave a detailed presentation on the subject.
He highlighted major initiatives including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Track & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Faceless Customs System, Cargo Tracking System, Direct Port Delivery System, Reward & Rating System, and Video Analytics for production monitoring in different sectors. He informed the participants that Video Analytics has already been deployed in the sugar and cement sectors and is currently being implemented in the textile sector.
The presentation included the fact how these advancements have clearly improved the taxpayers base by increasing their level of confidence in FBR and enhancing FBR’s perception as a transparent and taxpayer-friendly organisation.
The Secretary also apprised the business community of the organisational resources and capabilities of FBR with special reference to transformation plan that involves the use of AI and automation in order to improve the public service delivery. "One of the basic responsibilities of FBR is public facilitation and FBR is working swiftly on creating easiness in its dealings with taxpayers, making the tax collection system transparent and enhancing its human resources in terms of both capability and public service delivery" remarked the Secretary.
Senior Vice President FPCCI Mr. Saqib Fayyaz, Vice President Mr. Amaan Paracha, Vice President Mr. Asif Sakhi and Advisor Tax matters Mr. Danish Saleem were present in the Seminar. A number of representatives from different associations and chambers also attended the seminar through Zoom link. The audience showed keen interest in the presentation and during the Q & A session.
The seminar concluded with presentation of souvenirs by the FBR officers.
