On instructions of the Chairman FBR, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and under the supervision of Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) Madam Tehmina Aamer, organized a comprehensive Tax Awareness Outreach Seminar, Capital Police College, Police Lines, H-11, Islamabad. The Seminar aimed at promoting tax awareness, broadening the tax base, enhancing compliance and strengthening transparency and accountability in Pakistan’s revenue system.

The FBR’s team comprised Muhammad Muti -ur- Rehman Mumtaz, Secretary (Tax Education & Facilitation), Abdul Rehman Sheikh, Second Secretary (Facilitation) and other officials from the Taxpayers’ Services Wing. The Capital Police College was represented by Mr. Shamas-ul-Haq Durrani, SSP (Law & Orders/Trainings) and other officers of Police Service along with a full batch of newly inducted SHOs and Inspectors.

During the seminar, Mumtaz delivered a details presentation highlighting the fundamentals reforms introduced under FBR’s Transformation Plan, duly approved by the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan. He elaborated on major initiatives including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Trak & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Port Delivery System and Video Analytics for production monitoring currently implemented in the sugar and cement sectors and being extended to the textile sector.
Mumtaz emphasized that the integrated implementation of these reforms has improved tax compliance, expanded the tax base and strengthened transparency and accountability across the revenue framework.
Participants actively engaged in discussions, particularly on income taxation, followed by an in-depth Questions and Answer session, during which the FBR team addressed queries comprehensively and provided practical guidance on tax facilitation and compliance.
The seminar concluded with the distribution of souvenirs and informational material among the participants as a gesture of appreciation and collaboration.
The event reaffirmed FBR’s commitment to constructive engagement and the development of a transparent, efficient and facilitative tax system in Pakistan.
