On instructions of the Chairman FBR, Mr. Rashid Mahmood Langrial, and under the supervision of Member Taxpayers’ Services Wing (TPS) Madam Tehmina Aamer, organized a comprehensive Tax Awareness Outreach Seminar, Pearl Continental Hotel, Bhurban, on February 13th, 2026. The Seminar aimed at promoting tax awareness, broadening the tax base, enhancing compliance and strengthening transparency and accountability in Pakistan’s revenue system.

The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) held an extensive awareness seminar at focusing on key measures undertaken to broaden the tax base, enhance tax compliance and strengthen transparency and accountability across Pakistan’s revenue operations. The FBR delegation comprised of Mr. Usman Asghar, Chief (Taxpayers’ Services Wing), Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz Secretary (Taxpayer Education & Facilitation) & Mr. Abdul Rehman Sheikh, Second Secretary (Facilitation).

The Pearl Continental Hotel, Bhurban was represented by Mr. Nadeem R Chaudhry (Cluster General Manager), Ms. Aisha Sana Khan (Director People & Culture), Mr. Hamid Bashir (Director Finance) and different Heads of the Departments and staff members. During the seminar, Mr. Muhammad Muti-ur-Rehman Mumtaz delivered a comprehensive presentation outlining the key concepts of taxation as well as the reforms introduced under the FBR’s Transformation Plan, duly initiated and approved by the Honourable Prime Minister of Pakistan.
The presentation covered major initiatives and reforms introduced by FBR for enhancing transparency and accountability, including Point of Sale (POS) Integration, Track & Trace System, Digital Invoicing, Faceless Customs, Direct Port Delivery System, Reward & Rating System and Video Analytics for production monitoring; which has already been deployed in the Sugar & Cement sectors and is being deployed in the textile sector. He highlighted how the integrated implementation of these measures has significantly improved tax compliance, expanded the tax base and reinforced transparency and accountability within the revenue framework.
Following the presentation, a separate in-depth Question & Answer session was held, during which participants raised pertinent queries. The FBR team responded comprehensively, providing clarity and guidance on various aspects of tax facilitation and compliance. The seminar concluded with the presentation of souvenirs and giveaways by the FBR to the participants as a gesture of appreciation and collaboration.
The event reaffirmed FBR’s commitment to constructive engagement with the participants and its resolve to build a transparent, efficient and facilitative tax system for the country.
